Kensington is West London at its most composed: tree-lined streets of white stucco and red brick, the museums of Exhibition Road, and two of the capital's great parks on its doorstep. Kensington High Street runs through the middle of it, with Whole Foods, the Design Museum and the restaurants of Kensington Church Street along the way.

High Street Kensington station is five minutes for the Circle and District lines, with South Kensington, Victoria and the City a straight run; Earl's Court adds the Piccadilly line to Heathrow. Holland Park is six minutes on foot, Kensington Gardens and the Palace ten, and the Royal Albert Hall and the V&A a twenty minute walk or two stops east.
