The address

On Harley Street, between Cavendish Square and Regent's Park

Harley Street has been London's address for medicine since the nineteenth century, and its tall Georgian and Victorian terraces still hold private clinics and consulting rooms. It runs north from Cavendish Square towards Regent's Park, and once the working day is over the streets either side are quiet and residential.

Marylebone High Street, a few minutes west, has Daunt Books, cafés, independent shops and a farmers' market on Sundays. Wigmore Hall, the chamber music hall, is round the corner on Wigmore Street, and The Wallace Collection, free to visit, fills a townhouse on Manchester Square. John Lewis and Selfridges are both within ten minutes on Oxford Street.

Regent's Park station on the Bakerloo line is eight minutes' walk, and Oxford Circus, for the Central and Victoria lines, about nine. Bond Street, ten minutes south, has the Elizabeth line to Heathrow, the City and Canary Wharf. Regent's Park itself, with Queen Mary's Gardens and the Open Air Theatre, is under a quarter of an hour on foot.
